Instructions
Place a small pot over medium heat. Drizzle with oil. Once hot, add the minced garlic. Sauté until fragrant and golden, stirring frequently, about 2 minutes.
Stir in the honey, soy sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, and garlic powder. In a small bowl, whisk together the corn starch and water, then add this to the sauce pot with the other ingredients, stirring to combine.
Increase the heat to medium-high, stirring frequently, until the sauce starts bubbling. Once bubbling, reduce heat to a gentle simmer. Stir occasionally.
When the sauce is thick enough to coat the back of a spoon, remove it from the heat and serve as desired.

Notes
To make the sauce in the microwave: Add all ingredients to a heat-proof liquid measuring cup or bowl. Heat in 30 second intervals, stirring after each interval, until the sauce is thickened, about 2-3 minutes.
To make the sauce spicy, add 1 tablespoon of garlic chili sauce or sriracha.
Best within 5 days. Let cool before refrigerating.
