Sweet, savory, and garlicky, this Honey Garlic Sauce takes just 10 minutes to make and is perfect as a dipping sauce, tossed with your go-to protein, or drizzled over rice.

Whether you're looking for a honey garlic sauce recipe for stir-fries, dipping, or tossing, I have you covered!
This sweet, salty, and savory honey garlic sauces uses just 10 minute and under 10 simple ingredients, but it's still flavorful enough to be the star of quick weeknight dinners.
I first developed this sauce recipe for my honey garlic tofu, and have since adapted the recipe so that it is thick enough to coat noodles or drizzle over rice.
Ingredients

- Honey: Any type of honey works.
- Garlic and garlic powder: For double the garlic flavor! If you want a less garlicky recipe but still want to keep some garlic, I recommend omitting the garlic powder and keeping the fresh minced garlic, as it provides a deeper flavor than powder.
- Brown sugar: This adds extra depth to the sauce.
- Soy sauce: An equal amount of tamari works to make this sauce gluten-free. For a lower salt option, choose lower sodium soy sauce.
- Rice vinegar: This balances out the salty sweet honey and soy sauce. Sometimes labeled as "rice wine vinegar".
- Corn starch: This thickens the sauce.

Cassidy's tips and variations
- Corn starch is added to thicken the sauce. For a thinner honey garlic sauce, simply omit the corn starch and remove the sauce from the heat once the sugar is fully melted.
- To make the sauce spicy, add 1 tablespoon of chili garlic sauce or sriracha.
- To make the sauce in the microwave: Add all ingredients to a heat-proof liquid measuring cup or bowl. Heat in 30 second intervals, stirring after each interval, until the sauce is thickened, about 2-3 minutes.
